Dear Friends of Sanibel Music Festival,
Sanibel Music Festival is pleased to launch the Emerging Artist Series in March 2021. The series features the FGCU Bower School of Music Chamber Ensembles in open-air daytime performances on Sanibel Island.
Concerts will be Tuesday, March 23, and March 30, at 11 am at the Sundial Beach Resort & Spa, a GBAC STAR™ accredited venue, recognizing gold standard bio risk preparedness. Register here on our website for socially distanced seating.
Looking ahead to next year, the March 2022 season marks our 35th Anniversary. The entire season will celebrate outstanding, long-established talent. American Pianist, Jon Nakamatsu, Gold Medalist at the Tenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, opens on March 5, 2022. The Julliard String Quartet follows, founded in 1946 and hailed by The Boston Globe as “the most important American quartet in history.” The internationally renowned nine-time Grammy award-winning Emerson String Quartet will close the season.
Back by popular demand is the Opera Theater of Connecticut Singing Andrew Lloyd Webber, showcasing the sold-out program that had been planned for the suspended 2020 season.
In between, the series will showcase one amazing ensemble after another. These include American Chamber Players Piano Quartet plus Flute led by Miles Hoffman; the acclaimed Boston Trio, launched with high praise at Tanglewood in 1997; and festival favorite Cliburn Silver Medalist pianist Ken Broberg.
