Sanibel Music Festival - Calendar Header

Dear Friends of Sanibel Music Festival,

After careful consideration of current Covid-19 pandemic events, Sanibel Music Festival announces plans for an interim program in March 2021 followed by a full celebration of our 35th Anniversary Season in March 2022.

In planning an abbreviated 2021 season, we will focus on outdoor concerts highlighting the beauty of Sanibel Island and featuring local artists.

The March 2022 season is confirmed and showcases outstanding, long-established talent. American Pianist, Jon Nakamatsu, Gold Medalist at the Tenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition opens the season. The Julliard String Quartet will perform, founded in 1946 and hailed by The Boston Globe as “the most important American quartet in history.” The internationally renowned nine-time Grammy award-winning Emerson String Quartet will close the season.

Back by popular demand is the Opera Theater of Connecticut Singing Andrew Lloyd Webber, showcasing the sold-out program that had been planned for the suspended 2020 season.

In between, the series unfolds with one amazing ensemble after another, including American Chamber Players Piano Quartet plus Flute led by Miles Hoffman, well-known music commentator on National Public Radio; the acclaimed Boston Trio, launched with high praise at Tanglewood in 1997; and festival favorite Cliburn Silver Medalist pianist Ken Broberg.
