March 20 @ 7:30 pm$50.00
The 1940s ushered in Broadway’s Golden Age, starting with the groundbreaking work of Rodgers and Hammerstein and expanding to include many of Music Theater’s best loved artists and composers. Join us as Opera Theater of Connecticut presents an evening of The Gems of Broadway’s Golden Age with five professional singers paying tribute to the works of Comden and Green, Lerner and Loewe, Cole Porter and others with selected pieces from shows such as Kiss Me Kate, Annie Get Your Gun, Guys and Dolls, My Fair Lady, among others, all backed by illustrative projections.
The concert also features a special tribute to American genius Leonard Bernstein, in celebration of his 100th birthday celebration, whose works and influence helped drive and advance the Broadway stage, featuring some of the best-known songs from West Side Story, On the Town, and others.
